Our staff consists of mature and experienced
engineers and geologists.
Robert Alperstein is a licensed Professional
Engineer in six states. He holds a
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from
The Cooper Union for the Advancement of
Science and Art and a Master of Science
degree in Civil Engineering from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a
specialty in Soil Mechanics. He presents
over 40 years' experience in the practice of
Geotechnical Engineering, mostly on major
projects in the Northeast, Midwest, Canada
and the Caribbean. His project experience
includes heavy industrial complexes,
commercial and high rise building
foundations, marinas and waterfront
construction, retaining structures,
transportation facilities (highways, people
movers, pipelines), dams, embankments on
soft ground and soil and rock slope
stabilization. He is a member of
professional societies and has published
over a dozen professional papers relating to
the practical aspects of Geotechnical
Engineering.
Roy E. Hunt is a licensed Professional
Engineer in three states and a Certified
Professional Geologist in three states and
Brazil. He holds a B.S. degree in Geology &
Physics from Upsala College and an M.A.
degree in Soil Mechanics and Foundation
Engineering from Columbia University. He
presents over 45 years' experience in
Geological and Geotechnical Engineering in
the Northeast United States, South America
and Southeast Asia. His expertise includes:
evaluation of stability of natural and cut
rock slopes; interpretation of remotely
sensed imagery for the development of
engineering geology, hazard and risk maps;
evaluation and design of retaining
structures, dams and foundations. He is a
member of professional societies and has
published two award winning books related to
geotechnical engineering practice.
Joseph D. Chastanet is a licensed
Professional Engineer in three states. He
